please take care of yourself!
This is my story. It is lengthy. If you have the time to read it, I appreciate it. I just want others to learn from my experiences.
Days 3-6
Haha I already hopped off the bandwagon… I guess I’ll try to blog as much as I can.
Gonna have to cram my reading for EBP today. I seriously dislike the other provider for the ebooks this semester, CafeScribe. It isn’t as user-friendly as PageBurst. Customer service is also lacking from their staff. Boo and hiss indeed.
After having an overview of two out of the three lectures I’ll have every week, I can say that I’m going to enjoy this semester. It may seem dry in the beginning, but it made me realize how much politics is involved in Nursing. I still want to work with children, but I feel like I want to do more community health than Med-Surg. We’ll see where my calling lies…
Day 2
No class today but I work pretty much from 1030-1800. Luckily I got in line early enough to get a bus pass. Just need to do my run, my readings, oh and watch 200 lbs of beauty for work :)
Day 1
Ok ok ok I haven’t been on in a while… but I really want to journal every day spent on nursing this semester. so i’m going to be really good in keeping this updated. it is also my desire to help other nursing students so i will get back to posting my quirky nursing tips.
for starters. jr 1. day 1. decanoate injection skill check off and med dosage calc test. can’t get any better than this! who gets tests on the first day of school? NURSING STUDENTS DO!
definitely need to brush up
Yesterday afternoon, I had the hardest time finding my last two patient’s blood pressure. One was an overweight woman who knew her nursing skills and she literally had to tell me how to take it. I mean I really appreciated her input but its like… if you knew how to do it why would you go to someone inexperienced like me? I guess it’s God’s way of making me learn. Constructive criticism….
I’m hoping I learn more about abnormalities next semester. I’ve dealt with patients within normal BMIs…. but definitely need to give the patients outside the norms some love.
